#10: Amazon
Tuesday Jun 12, 2018
Tuesday Jun 12, 2018
*WARNING: there is a zoomy/buzzy sound in the background of the podcast for the first 3 minutes, because the street outside our apartment was being cleaned. Sorry about that, it goes away at the 3:12 mark*
In this tenth episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs, Harper recounts the horror of turning forty (the drama!)
We binged on season two of Marcella and discovered the amazing Dietland. We are also immensely enjoying the audiobook of Mythos by Stephen Fry.
For the topic of the week we discuss Amazon, the danger of being completely exclusive with them, and how we want to diversify our sources of income.

#9: Plotting
Tuesday Jun 05, 2018
Tuesday Jun 05, 2018
We're back after a holiday break.
Our holiday was not a real holiday, since it was during the release week of Once Upon a Princess, which has done so well.
We kind of finished the first draft of our co-written golf romance, more on that in the topic of the week.
On the television front we've been enjoying some quality British drama with The Split and A Very English Scandal.
Our topic of the week is Plotting. Harper talks about how her co-write with Clare went so well thanks to Clare's great outline, and how the absence of a detailed plot affected our co-write. But she explains why she'll probably remain a pantser for her solo books.

#8: Sweet Romance
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Tuesday May 22, 2018
It's Gay Pride on the day we record this 8th episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs.
We start by professing our love for Pride and talking about the criticism it sometimes gets.
This week we took time to make the necessary updates to our empire in order to comply with the upcoming GDPR. We also finalised the royal romance, which wil be out next week. And our interview on the Begin Self-Publishing podcast came out this week.
We binge-watched Season 4 of The Bridge and we're going to miss Saga Noren so much.
Finally, we talked about the book we're co-writing at the moment, which is a sweet romance, so no hot scenes *gasp*! We have a live discussion on if it's a good idea to have both our names on it, or do we risk alienating Harper Bliss fans who have come to expect heat in her books.

#7: Getting Over a Bad Week
Tuesday May 15, 2018
Tuesday May 15, 2018
This episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs is all about having a bad week and how to get over it.
We got edits back for the co-written royal romance this week, and Harper did some mailing list hygiene work, in view of the GDPR. Helpful resources for writers are this episode of The Creative Penn, this workshop by Nick Stephenson and this episode of The Self-Publishing Formula.
We binge-watched a new Netflix show called Safe, even though it's really not very good. But we profess our love for Graham Norton and his weekly talk-show.
Then we discussed our bad week, what happened and what we'll try to do to have a better next week.

#6: The Benefits of Keeping a Diary
Tuesday May 08, 2018
Tuesday May 08, 2018
In this sixth episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs, Harper discusses the benefits of keeping a personal diary.
It was, again, an exciting week for both of us. Harper was nominated for a Goldie, Caroline won her golf match on Saturday and her team went on to become the second best team in Belgium, we were interviewed for another podcast and the cover for the upcoming co-written book with Clare Lydon was finalised.
We didn't watch that much television this week, but we have a new favourite podcast: Where Should We Begin with Esther Perel. And it's not just because she's Belgian like us.
For our topic of the week Harper talks about the habit she created of keeping a personal diary. It was inspired by an episode of The Creative Penn which featured Orna Ross of the Alliance of Independent Authors.

#5: The Production Model
Tuesday May 01, 2018
Tuesday May 01, 2018
The fifth episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs is devoted to The Production Model.
This past week has been very busy and exciting, because we started co-writing a book together! It's a golf romance, so Harper joined Caroline and her mother when they played a round on Friday.
No bingewatching this week, but we do discuss the show we're really enjoying A LOT this season: The Good Fight.
For our topic of the week Harper talks about the business model for indie publishers that she wants to follow: the production model, whereby we will publish something every month.

#4: Going Off Social Media
Tuesday Apr 24, 2018
Tuesday Apr 24, 2018
In this fourth episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs Harper discusses her experience being off social media for a week.
Bur first we start by talking about our week. Harper worked on the second draft of the book she's co-writing with Clare Lydon and accidentally reveals too much about it, which had to be beeped out.
We watched a lot of television last week, starting with the whole fourth season of Bosch. We also watched the first two episodes of Killing Eve, with a fabulous Sandra Oh, and we started on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which we predict we'll finish by the end of the week.
For our topic of the week Harper talks about her decision to be off social media for the past week, and how it gave her so much time to do other things. She might even stay off forever!

#3: The London Book Fair
Tuesday Apr 17, 2018
Tuesday Apr 17, 2018
In this third episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs the recap and topic of the week are one and the same: our visit to The London Book Fair.
We start by talking about the new woman in our life: Alexa! We're still getting to know each other. Harper also announces her daring plan for the coming week.
Next we discuss the second part of Money Heist, which was as great as the first part and which we can't recommend enough.
Finally, the London Book Fair. Or maybe it should be called the London Beer Fair. We hung out and had loads of fun with fellow lesfic authors Clare Lydon and T.B. Markinson. We had too much to drink at the Self Publishing Formula meet-up, but had a great chat with Mark Dawson and James Blatch (listen to their great podcast!)
We also had too much to drink at the Alliance of Independent Authors reception (it was sponsored by Amazon, so why not?)

#2: Six Years On
Tuesday Apr 10, 2018
Tuesday Apr 10, 2018
This second episode of Harper Bliss & Her Mrs was recorded in a slightly hungover state, for which we apologise.
In the recap of the week Harper talks about her feelings towards bank holidays, her mid-life crisis, and also about finishing the first draft of her co-writing project with Clare Lydon, while Caroline discusses the challenge of designing the cover for this same project.
No television topic this week, but rather a lesbian movie: Below Her Mouth. Harper has a lot (A LOT) to say about the movie and its abundance of scissoring scenes.
In the weekly topic part of the episode we talk about the fact that we have been doing this writing and publishing thing for more than six years now, growing it from a hobby to a business that sustains both of us. Harper almost reveals her secret next co-writing partner and then circles back to talking about Below Her Mouth (it clearly made quite an impression.)

#1: A New Start
Monday Apr 02, 2018
Monday Apr 02, 2018
We're back with a new podcast channel, now housed under the umbrella of My LesFic.
We want to make the podcast episodes more topical by recording them over the weekend before they go out on Tuesdays. We also plan on bringing some more structure to them by having a template we'll attempt to follow: we'll start by giving a brief recap of our week, then we'll discuss any television shows or movies we enjoyed, before going on to a topic of the week.
Of course, in this first episode we already deviate from the template as we begin by discussing our topic of the week, which is our new structure. But we'll start following the template next week, we promise!
In the recap of our week we discuss Harper's current works in progress and the (very lesbian) activity Caroline took up again recently. We also talk about Girls Heart Brussels, a lesbian event happening in our city and neighbourhood in a few weeks.
Finally, the television show we enjoyed a lot recently is La Casa del Papel, or Money Heist as it's known in English.
