#137: Harper Is Sorry for This Podcast

September 15, 2022
We were absent last week because the arrival of a dog in our home has caused quite the commotion.

We had the deluxe edition of At the Water’s Edge recorded by Abby Craden and it’s available everywhere now. And Harper’s other scandalous romance, In the Distance There Is Light, has been out for six years!

We really loved season two of The Capture on the BBC. We’re also watching both House of the Dragons and The Rings of Power.

Caroline’s book of the week is Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen.

#136: Harper and Her Mrs Reveal a Massive Plot Twist

September 1, 2022
The writing of Harper’s current work-in-progress is going very slowly. There will be a lot of drama before it’s done.

Harper has revealed her fantasy casting for A Family Affair on her blog. And we’ve received the audio recordings from Abby Craden, so it’ll be available to listen to very soon.

We binged The Dropout on Hulu. Amanda Seyfried should get an Emmy for her performance.

Caroline’s book is The Other Mother by Rachel M. Harper. Harper would like to read it, but is still stuck in Ken Follett.

#135: Harper Guarantees a Happy Ending for the Women

August 25, 2022
A Family Affair has had a great launch, so thank you to everybody who bought it or read it in Kindle Unlimited. We’re doing a lucky draw, and you can win a signed paperback book, or naming rights for a future book. All details can be found HERE >>

Harper started on her next book after a two month break, which is her longest hiatus so far. It’s a new age-gap romance in the ever expanding BlissVerse.

We’ve been watching too much Premier League football. In between matches, we binged A League of Their Own on Amazon. Harper loved it but has some remarks. We’re also enjoying the second season of Only Murders in the Building

Caroline’s book of the week is The Change by Kirsten Miller.

August 18, 2022
Harper’s newest book, A Family Affair is out on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered, bought or borrowed it!

And the German translation of This Foreign AffairEine Französin zum Küssen is out today as well!
Harper is preparing to start writing her next book, but she hasn’t even told Caroline anything about it yet.

We finished Better Things and we already miss it so much. We binged Belgian show Pandore, but really hope that the upcoming second season will deliver on the comeuppance of a certain character.
Harper doesn’t understand why everybody (mostly male TV critics) raves about Better Called Saul.

Caroline’s book recommendation is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

#133: Harper Can Only Achieve Shortness in Her Stature

#133: Harper Can Only Achieve Shortness in Her Stature

August 11, 2022

We’re back after a long hiatus, hurray! And Harper wrote a book while we were off the air: A Family Affair. It’s available to buy direct now, or will be available on Amazon only (and in Kindle Unlimited) as of 17 August 2022 (for at least three months). This book was supposed to be more “women’s fiction” but ended up “scandalous lesbian romance”.

We’re seriously thinking of getting a dog and are looking for any tips for introducing a dog into a diva-cat household.

In television news, we’re currently loving Better Things and Paper Girls. And we enjoyed the movie Fire Island so much!

Caroline’s book recommendations are Yerba Buena by Nina LaCour and Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo.

#132: Harper Thinks the Neighbouring Roosters Suffer from Toxic Masculinity

May 19, 2022
Harper is enjoying once-a-year flow in the writing of her new book and all she wants to do is write.

The audio of The Duet is back from Abby Craden, so it will be out soon!

Caroline is working on our first foreign language publication, oui oui!

We haven’t watched as much television as usual because we’ve been enjoying the nice weather in our garden. And Amazon was late putting on the latest Bosch episodes, which pissed Harper off.

#131: Harper Is Quite Cranky

The Duet launched without a glitch and even made it to number one in the Amazon lesbian fiction chart, so thanks to everyone who bought it!

Harper has gone back to writing what she calls her most scandalous book yet. But she feels taking a longer break between books is beneficial to her writing.

Once in a Lifetime was mentioned in a Masterclass blog post, which means Harper is mainstream.

We’re really enjoying Bosch Legacy, even though it’s on a weekly release schedule. We’re also watching The Staircase.

This week’s book recommendation is from Harper: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.

#130: Harper Feels Like Her Soul Has Come Home

May 4, 2022
We’re back after our moving-to-the-country hiatus. Turns out, we love living outside the city. Except maybe for the lack of food delivery services.

Harper has a new book out! The Duet, a rock-star age-gap romance, is available now HERE. And the audiobook of And The She Kissed Me is out as well.

Lots of television was watched during our break. We even had to resubscribe to AppleTv+.

Harper was blown away by Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters, while Caroline’s book recommendation this week is Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.

#129: Harper Was Inspired by Dr. Drake Ramoray

Contrary to last week, this episode is rant-free! Thanks to everyone who bought And Then She Kissed Me and helped spread the word about it. For a chance at winning some fun prizes, check out this page.

Harper is writing away at her upcoming rockstar romance. She has also started reading French Kissing as it was the first episode’s 8th anniversary this week.

We started watching Suspicion on AppleTV+, but are not used to having to wait for a weekly release. We also started Reacher on Amazon and really like it, especially the main character’s non-toxic manliness. And we absolutely loved the episode of Imagine on the BBC dedicated to Marian Keyes.

#128: Harper’s Characters Don’t Want to Kiss

#128: Harper’s Characters Don’t Want to Kiss

February 3, 2022
This week’s episode is kind of ranty again. Harper is back in writing mode, but she’s not sure she’s on the right track.
We’re grateful to everyone who bought And Then She Kissed Me and made it go up the Amazon ranks in spite of the ranking snafu.

We’re watching Friends, again, and still can’t believe they paired Rachel with Ross. We also enjoyed BBC show The Tourist a lot.
